5/2/22
Nadia Rivera serves as the Special Assistant to the CEO for Waterkeeper Alliance, a role she assumed in May 2022. Nadia is responsible for supporting the CEO through a combination of organizational governance, strategic project management, research, and executive administration.
Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, Nadia recalls her earliest water memories at Coney Island Beach, which is also home to a historic amusement park. Nowadays, Nadia appreciates New York’s waterways from bike paths throughout the city.
Getting involved in environmental work was a no-brainer for Nadia. She believes climate change is our most pressing issue and that it requires an all-hands-on-deck approach. Prior to joining Waterkeeper Alliance, Nadia supported C-level executives in day-to-day operational efficiency and long-term strategic implementation to promote organizational growth.
Nadia earned a Master of Science degree in Information Management from Columbia University and studied project management at New York University. She is a lifelong learner that enjoys traveling sustainably, and encountering different environments, cultures, and languages.
“Exploring has made me acknowledge and value the importance of water for the environment and public health. We must not take for granted our most precious and limited resource.”
