La Paz Waterkeeper was founded in 2013 in Baja California Sur, Mexico to protect and conserve the great Bay of La Paz from emerging threats.

Hosted by parent organization Red de Observadores Ciudadanos AC, La Paz Waterkeeper focuses largely on water quality monitoring for the Bay’s 8 recreational beaches, protecting the public from toxic contamination. La Paz Waterkeeper maintains an interactive, public Tableau dedicated to sharing water quality information with the public. Using their expertise in sampling and monitoring, they are advocating for broader regulatory standards to regulate water quality testing. Outside of water quality work, La Paz Waterkeeper works to protect and conserve nature in the Bay of La Paz, educating the public on threats and good stewardship.
