The people of Dakar, Senegal, need our help!

Waterkeeper Alliance is working with Hann Baykeeper to support its community after historic flooding.

Historic flood conditions in Dakar have created unsafe living conditions for many. Even after the water recedes, flooding in urban areas leads to serious health concerns from sewage leaks, toxic chemicals, and stagnant water-borne disease.

In at least one area, a major oil leak has made matters much worse. Diesel oil in flood waters has inundated homes, creating more severe health risks and making homes uninhabitable for hundreds. While temporary shelter has been made available to some, there is currently no plan to clean up the area or help families secure permanent safe shelter.

Your support will help Waterkeeper Alliance provide relief directly to families that need it most, as well as help secure important safety and water testing equipment.
