Capital gifts allow Waterkeeper Alliance to sustain its long-term health and mission-driven vitality, improve legal capacity, provide for special projects, and increase our endowment.

Waterkeeper Alliance is currently embarking on a bold expansion of its successful model of local communities organizing to protect their watersheds. We’re calling it Project Osiris, based on the Egyptian god of resurrection and regeneration who periodically flooded the river to provide fertile cropland along the Nile Valley. From the first Waterkeeper in New York, Hudson Riverkeeper, we’ve developed organically to become the largest global nonprofit solely focused on clean water. Given the magnitude of the global water crisis, we need to scale our model more rapidly to tackle the most urgent water issues of our time. Learn more about Project Osiris here.

By using the proven Waterkeeper model of locally-based citizen action and advocacy, combined with a highly connected, well-trained, professional global network, we envision this project to be achievable. If interested in making a capital gift, please contact Mary Beth Postman at [email protected].
