The Bentzen Ball is a three-day festival produced by Brightest Young Things, curated by Tig Notaro and packed full of the funniest comedians around. Events include a power talk with some of the most influential women in comedy—Tig Notaro, Cheryl Hines and June Diane Raphael; How Did This Get Made Live! with Paul Scheer, June Diane Raphael and Jason Mantzoukas; the Superior Donuts Stand-Up Tour with Jermaine Fowler, David Koechner and Rell Battle; and more!
This year, BYT and Tig Notaro have chosen Waterkeeper Alliance to be the Bentzen Ball’s nonprofit partner. Proceeds from the festival will support Waterkeeper Alliance’s vision of drinkable, fishable, swimmable waters worldwide.
Tickets for opening night of the Bentzen Ball are on sale now. With Seaton Smith and Greg Barris joining Tig Notaro to host, BYT is calling it “The Most Very Specialest Evening with Tig Notaro & Friends”—we’re calling it the biggest comedy event since Keep It Clean!
The Bentzen Ball has been around since 2009 when Tig Notaro teamed up with BYT to create a fun, new way of highlighting comedians. The name originated from a Danish doctor who allegedly laughed so much watching “A Fish Called Wanda” in 1989 that he died.
