Water Protectors at Standing Rock are asking for your help with a Month of Solidarity through December. Here’s a few things you can do to help the folks on the ground at Oceti Sakowin camp:
GO TO STANDING ROCK
- Be respectful and ready to work.
- It is essential that you prepare and plan for inclement weather and take the appropriate measures to ensure your safety.
TAKE ACTION IN YOUR OWN COMMUNITY
- Check out this map of the financial, governmental and corporate targets behind DAPL to find out where to hold an action near you.
- These are the locations of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers offices at which to hold actions.
- Make your voices heard at conferences, fundraisers, galas, and other events organized by banks funding the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) and pipeline corporations. Check out this list of upcoming events.
- Don’t see an opportunity near you? Please reach out.
ENCOURAGE DIVESTMENT
- Join the International Indigenous Youth Council in demanding that DNB (The Bank of Norway) withdraw all loans to Energy Transfer Partners by spreading this video with the hashtags #DNBBank #WaterIsLife #DNBoutofDAPL and tag @DNBbankasLT.
- You can also contact DNB to thank them for pulling their assets from DAPL and ask that they now withdraw all loans to Energy Transfer Partners.
- Move your money from banks and institutions funding DAPL and ask friends and family to do the same. Here is a guide to how to close your bank account.
DONATE TO THE FRONTLINES
- Oceti Sakowin Camp
- Indigenous People’s Power Project
- Water Protector Legal Collective
- Winterization of Camp
- Medic & Healer Council
- Always needed are supplies, and folks with experience or skills in winter camping and winterizing, direct action, construction, chopping/hauling wood, cooking, dishes, childcare, etc. It is especially useful to commit to 2 weeks or longer.
