Dive Into Democracy: Tell EPA to Maintain PFAS Protections!

By: Organizational Admin

Public comments close on July 20. There’s still time to take 2 Minutes to Take 2 Actions to Protect U.S. Drinking Water from “Forever Chemicals.”

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is taking public comments on two proposals that would weaken protections against toxic PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” in our drinking water.

One proposal would roll back federal drinking water standards for four PFAS compounds.

The other would delay compliance with existing standards for PFOS and PFOA—allowing these dangerous chemicals to remain in U.S. drinking water longer before action is required.

The science is clear. PFAS are linked to cancer, reproductive harm, weakened immunity, and other serious health effects. Weakening or delaying protections puts our communities, waterways, and families at unnecessary risk.

The deadline to submit comments is July 20. There’s still time to take action today!

Action 1: Tell EPA to maintain strong federal drinking water standards for PFAS.
Action 2: Tell EPA not to delay protections from PFOS and PFOA contamination.

Together, we can tell EPA that our drinking water deserves strong protections—not weaker standards or delayed action. Thank you for standing with us!
