In Leh, Ladakh, India, home of the Himalayan Glacier Waterkeeper, the sacred Indus River is fed by the Zanskar River, a north-flowing tributary. The founder of Himalayan Glacier Waterkeeper, His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, spiritual head of the Drukpa lineage of HimalayanBhuddism, and his non-profit Live to Love International, has identified 10 Drukpa monasteries, 6 along the Indus River and 4 along the Zanskar Rivers,where communities are ready to carry forward His Holiness’s mission to protect the Himalayan Glaciers from pollution and climate change.
