In Leh, Ladakh, India, home of the Himalayan Glacier Waterkeeper, the sacred Indus River is fed by the Zanskar River, a north-flowing tributary. The founder of Himalayan Glacier Waterkeeper, His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, spiritual head of the Drukpa lineage of Himalayan Bhuddism, and his non-profit Live to Love International, has identified 10 Drukpa monasteries, six along the Indus River and four along the Zanskar Rivers, where communities are ready to carry forward His Holiness’s mission to protect the Himalayan Glaciers from pollution and climate change.
