The Delaware River flows free for 330 miles from New York through Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware on its way to the Atlantic Ocean. Though the watershed drains only four-tenths of one percent of the total continental U.S. land area, 15 million people, or about 5% of the nation's population, rely on the Delaware River Basin for their drinking water, including New York City and Philadelphia.

Maya earned her J.D. from Pace University School of Law, and an LL.M. in Corporate Finance from the Widener University School of Law. While at Pace she worked with and for the Hudson Riverkeeper and discovered her passion for the role of Riverkeeper. A committed environmentalist, Maya relishes her role as an advocate for the Delaware River on behalf of thousands of DRN members who are passionate about clean water and a healthy environment.
