The West and Rhode Rivers enter the Chesapeake Bay on its western shore approximately ten miles south of Annapolis. The River contains approximately 40 miles of shoreline including 18 navigable creeks.
Jeff Holland comes to the Riverkeeper organization with a background in non-profit management and public relations. He was recognized by the Anne Arundel County Schools for creating the innovative environmental education program at AMM, “MUDDY FEET,” which stands for “Maritime Unbounded Damp and Dirty Yucky Fun Environmental Education and Training.” Governor Martin O’Malley appointed him as a Maryland delegate on the Citizens Advisory Committee to the Chesapeake Bay Program in 2011. Jeff enjoys fishing, kayaking and biking, often along the same creek or river somewhere in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. He lives with his wife, Louise White, in Annapolis.
