Organizer, Gulf and South Atlantic Regions
Julia is a creative and energetic advocate of environmental justice. She joined Waterkeeper Alliance as an Organizer for the South Atlantic and Gulf Regions in February 2019.
Julia graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Environmental Policy and a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She credits her college professors, mentors, and peers for transforming her passion for the outdoors and for social justice into a unified, holistic understanding of environmental policies and their impacts on human lives. While studying environmental science abroad in New Zealand, Julia completed an independent research project on the annual trends of nitrate contamination in the Canterbury region’s groundwater. Her senior year, she organized a student-built art installation for climate justice on her campus.
Julia has previously worked at the St. Louis Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, her university’s Office of Sustainability, and most recently at the Climate Museum in New York City, where she remains a fan and volunteer.
