5/2/22
Amanda joined the Waterkeeper Alliance team in May of 2022 as the Organizer for Latin America. She was born in Albany, New York and currently lives in New York City.
Amanda received her B.A. from Binghamton University, with a dual degree in Art History and Sculpture and a minor in Global Studies. Over the course of her education, Amanda has had the opportunity to study in Mexico, Spain and Brazil. Recently, Amanda completed an Advanced Certificate in Public Health at the CUNY School of Public Health.
Prior to joining Waterkeeper Alliance, Amanda worked in the fields of Marketing, Public Health and Historic Preservation. She cares deeply about environmental justice and equity and is excited to work with and learn from passionate individuals working to preserve, restore and advocate for clean water across Latin America.
Amanda enjoys being near water; whether laying on the beach, swimming in an Adirondack Mountain lake in New York State, or hiking near a river. She is a certified yoga teacher, and an avid runner, with one NYC Marathon and several half-marathons under her belt, who is trying her hand at rock climbing. Amanda and her husband love to cook and eat delicious food and travel, including to visit her family in São Paulo, Brazil, whenever they can.
