The World of Waterkeepers
In this fourth series of Equity In Every Drop, we are taking listeners on an international journey to hear stories from Waterkeepers across the globe. We will highlight their work and the various threats, challenges and opportunities specific to their regions, examining the different circumstances these advocates face, as well as the similarities in all of their work in ensuring everyone’s right – around the world – to clean water. We will discuss international collaborations between Waterkeeper groups, whether it’s sharing information, equipment, or even a body of water. We will discuss the fight for free-flowing rivers, the work of educating the public, and the role of community, as well the challenge – and urgent necessity – of protecting, monitoring and defending waterbodies, even in the face of armed conflict.
