The Finger Lakes are a group of eleven long, narrow lakes in Central New York. The Finger Lakes make up a large part of the Lake Ontario watershed on the US side, flowing from south to north. From Seneca Lake, a series of manmade canals joins the lake via the Oswego canal with Lake Ontario to the north, and via the Erie Canal, to Lake Erie (Great Lakes) in the west and to the Hudson River in the east, and eventually to the Atlantic Ocean.
