London is characterized by all of the brooks, streams and rivers that flow through it. The most famous of London’s rivers is the Thames, which cuts the city in two. More local to where people live are rivers like the Lea, the Wandle, Brent and Ravensbourne. Stormwater runoff, being made worse by climate change, is one of the greatest threats to London's waterways.
Theo Thomas has worked for the preservation of London's waterbodies since 2002, as part of environmental charity Thames21. He ran their London Canalkeeper programme for 10 years and has been involved with Waterkeeper Alliance since 2003. In 2014, Theo created the new London Waterkeeper.
