Ms. Danitza Defillippis is the Waterkeeper at Choqueyapu Riverkeeper.  She is a lawyer who has focused on Bolivian environmental law since 1992 and has advocated for the Choqueyapu River since 2000.  She led a campaign that collected 10,000 signatures from residents of the capital city of La Paz, provided input on La Paz' city government's planning agenda, and brought to national attention, the dire conditions of the Choqueyapu River.  In 2008, the President of Bolivia Evo Morales spurred the drafting of a new Constitution for the country and asked Ms. Defillippis to make contributions to the text specific to the protection of watersheds.
