Riverkeeper works to improve water quality in the St. Johns River and its tributaries, to protect critical habitat in the St. Johns River watershed, to provide meaningful public access to our waterways, and to educate our members and the public about the River and the issues that impact its health. St. Johns Riverkeeper is the public’s independent voice advocating for the protection of the St. Johns River, Florida’s greatest natural resource.

Recent Accomplishments

--Organized one of the largest public hearings in Florida history opposing water withdrawals from the St. Johns River –Continuing legal challenge to the proposal.
--Legally challenging Florida’s narrative nutrient criteria, and impaired water rule in federal courts.
--Florida Wildlife Federation’s 2009 Water Conservationist of the Year Award.
