NY/NJ Baykeeper stops polluters, champions public access, influences land use decisions, and restores habitat, thus benefiting the natural and human communities of our watershed.

Recent Accomplishments

--Planted five new oyster reefs in NY Harbor to assess the viability of returning this once plentiful keystone species to the area.
--Conservation: Protected 82 acres urban open space
--Restoration: 500 volunteer oyster gardeners, 50 growing sites, and 300,000 oysters set at our aquaculture facility for placement on our two reefs
--Advocacy: First step in clean-up of dioxin from Passaic River, notice of intent to sue major polluter on Raritan River
