Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper is looking for a Development Manager. The Development Manager will work with Riverkeeper’s executive team and board of directors’ Advancement Committee to conceptualize, orchestrate and execute marketing and fundraising campaigns that contribute to consistent financial growth and visibility for Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper’s mission to protect water quality and connect people to their waterways.
The Development Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, and coordination of development activities with a primary focus on cultivating relationships and understanding donors’ and sponsors’ objectives and their capacity to give. Individual must be able to work collaboratively with a board of directors, Advancement Committee members, volunteer ambassadors and staff. Responsibilities include supporting the development and implementation of a strategic fundraising plan to meet donor and organizational goals. The position demands timely and accurate tracking of donor relations efforts and outcomes. In close collaboration with marketing and communications staff, the Development Manager will assist in the conception and implementation of fundraising events, appeals, family, private and corporate foundation cultivation and solicitation, corporate sponsorship solicitations and fulfillment, and will contribute to the fiscal reporting associated with fundraising activities.
