The Community Organizer will conduct community outreach on clean water while promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity. Duties include: organize volunteers to help restore a prominent Hood River waterfront property, Nichols Natural Area; conduct outreach and build relationships with diverse communities (e.g. Latino, Native American, AsianAmerican) to promote equity in environmental issues; organize residents to take action to protect clean water, including: reducing toxic pollution; restoring salmon habitat; and stopping coal, oil, and natural gas export facilities; and communicate with Riverkeeper members and recruit new members via events, presentations, telephone calls, and online. This position could be part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate’s availability. This is a one-year position with the possibility of extending.
