Communications Director – Altamaha Riverkeeper

Altamaha Riverkeeper is hiring a Communications Coordinator. This position will be responsible for communicating our message to our membership.  This communications work will include grant-writing, press releases, membership communications, newsletters, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and more. Communications outreach work will include co-developing and leading events, membership drives, paddles, and more.

The position reports to the Riverkeeper Executive Director and works closely with a remote staff throughout the watershed. The ideal candidate will be someone who is outgoing, collaborative, self-directed and comfortable helping to lead a public organization that works closely with other environmental non-profits, lawyers, government officials, private corporations, grant-making foundations, private donors, our membership and the general public. Candidates with successful grant-writing experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, social media savvy, website management (WordPress) experience, and experience creating graphics, campaigns and communications materials using MailChimp and/or other similar applications will have an advantage.
